Story
In April 2026, I will be taking on the challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Muscular Dystrophy UK.
An estimated 110,000 people across the UK live with a one of 60 muscle wasting and/or weakening conditions including Myotonic Dystrophy.
My dad sadly passed away in 2024 after living with myotonic dystrophy. From that experience, I saw first-hand the difficulties of living with a muscle wasting disease - not just on Dad but also the impact on myself and the rest of his loved ones. My brother James has inherited the disease and I am determined to make a difference to improve outcomes for him and anyone else living with a muscle weakening disease.
MDUK relies on fundraising to help support research into future treatments, find providers who can help adapt people’s homes so they can maintain their independence and provide emotional support for those with the condition as well as their families and caregivers. No donation is too small and together we can make a difference.
