As many of you will know, I have been struggling with various foot injuries for a few years. As a result, I haven't been doing any running for almost two years which has been a great sadness. I had thought that my marathon days were over until my friend Cynthia pointed out that the London Marathon has an 8 hour cut-off.... So on the 21st of April, Cynthia and I will be WALKING the London Marathon, as quickly as we possibly can! I've been training for this since November and am aiming to complete the marathon in between 6.5 and 7 hours.

I have been motivated to do the marathon so that I can support Citizens Advice Bristol. Having chaired the Board of Citizens Advice Bristol for the past two years, I have learned so much about what this extraordinary charity does - providing independent, impartial and confidential support to Bristolians who have nowhere else to turn.

Our dedicated and knowledgeable staff and volunteers give advice and provide support on a range of subjects but are in particular demand right now relating to welfare benefits, debt, immigration and housing. Our services have never been in greater demand now, due to the cost of living crisis, but our sources of funding are going down. So, please consider supporting CAB - and me - as I undertake this demanding physical challenge.
