Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my page. It’s been really emotional thinking back to last year whilst writing this. Our story……
On July 8th 2024 after 6 weeks of tests and hospital appointments, my girfriend Elin was given the news that we had being dreading, she had cancer. She had a rare form of stage 3 grade 2 breast cancer, which was aggressive but predictable. The CT and MRI scans showed that the lump was 10cm long but thankfully it had only spread to one lymph node. 6 months of chemotherapy followed and on Christmas Eve, two days before her final round of chemotherapy, we were given the amazing news that the tumour had shrunk to less than 1mm in size.
Following surgery on January 28th 2025, my fiancée Elin (I had proposed 2 days earlier) was officially in remission.
Now that Elin has finished her radiotherapy and with the knowledge that the worst of the treatment has come to an end, it’s time for me to put the fundraising I’ve been planning for the last 6 months into action……….
I’m raising money for Breast Cancer Now.
I’ll be completing one endurance event a month for 12 months. I started in May by completing the Burleigh Half Marathon. Since then I’ve also completed The Thames Path 100km Ultra, The Welsh 3000s, The National 3 peaks challenge and The Linacre Infini 6 Hour Trail Race to name a few. Last month I ran The Bath 50km Ultra. It was possibly the hardest run I’ve done in the past year.🥵
I’ll be finishing my challenges on 26th April 2026 with the London Marathon. Which is the day before I turn 50!
Thanks for reading, all the best.
