Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After completing my first marathon in 2011 at Amsterdam, I thought it would be a case of 'One and done', but it was clear I'd been bitten by the bug and a couple of years later I qualified for London marathon, then after a few more Londons and other marathons, in 2019 I won an entry to the New York City marathon, which I had also time qualified for. I'd planned to run Berlin anyway and it dawned on me, maybe I could complete the six world majors which included these two, along with Boston, Chicago and Tokyo. I duly qualified for Boston and Chicago and got lucky in the draw for Berlin, which left me just Tokyo to run to complete the set. I didn't fancy the flight, but my friends and family convinced me I should do it, so I duly applied and have a place for the event in March this year.
Training hasn't been easy since October as I've battled a heel problem (and I'm getting older!) but I am experienced and resilient enough to get through and would love to mark the 6 star achievement by raising funds and awareness for the charity Brain Tumour Support and hope you will support me in what will be my last world major marathon and perhaps my final full marathon.
