Robin Moore’s Oundle Pilgrimage for Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall

Robin Moore is raising money for Sue Ryder

The Oundle Pilgrimage · 8 August 2026

Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.

Story

CHARITY WALK IN THE NENE VALLEY

- Fundraising for Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall.

The Oundle Pilgrimage will take place on Saturday 8th August at the Oundle Farmers Market.

Starting at St Peter’s Church around 9am, we will be following Route 1 - The Sue Ryder Trail through the town to Stoke Doyle, Wadenhoe, Aldwinkle and Thorpe.

The second phase follows the old Nene Valley Railway cut to Barnwell; then it’s on to Polebrook and Ashton before culminating along the banks of the Nene, entering Oundle via Station Road.

I created and sponsored the Pilgrimage in 2010 as a fundraising discovery trail in honour of Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall.

No expenses are reclaimed for this charity work, though I do rely on local help with promotion/posters and the Sue Ryder Volunteers (Sue and Chris) who come to Oundle each year to collect funds from the the public at the Farmers Market.

Our founding members and other participants from around the world walk one of two trails each year to raise funds for Thorpe Hall. The routes are open to the public throughout the year and this Summer, I will be walking all the trails devised for the pilgrimage project.

This justgiving page has been added so the public can support my efforts; all future participants may also build their own if necessary. In addition, there will be an entrance fee of £10 which will entitle walkers to an Oundle Pilgrimage Passport. The fee is paid to Sue Ryder Volunteers on the day but you can download the latest version of the Passport for £1 from my website.

The credentials can be used to collect signatures and stamps at hostelries along the way and may entitle fundraisers to a Sue Ryder certificate for any sponsorship donated to the charity. The Oundle Pilgrimage Certificate can also be purchased for an additional £5.

Updates with justgiving page will be published at: Robin Moore’s Walking For Charity On Facebook.
