Story
Walking with a Purpose – Supporting the Royal Marines Association
Some people talk about commitment.
Others live it.
Robin “Bish” Bishop is one of those people.
A former Royal Marine, a King’s Badge man, and a Falklands veteran, Bish has spent a lifetime putting others before himself. Now, he’s taking on what may be his greatest challenge yet.
Over the next three months, Bish will walk from the Shetland Islands to Land’s End – entirely unaided, and at the age of 72 years old.
This isn’t just a walk. It’s a test of determination, resilience, and the Royal Marines spirit that has never left him.
What makes this challenge even more remarkable is that Bish has previously suffered a heart attack. Most people would understandably slow down after such a life-changing event. Not Bish.
He’s lacing up his boots, carrying his own kit, and setting off across Britain to raise funds for the Royal Marines Association – an organisation that continues to support serving and former Royal Marines, veterans, and their families when they need it most.
Many people also know Bish from his years as a publican. Alongside his wife, Wendy, they became well known for their generosity, organising countless charity events and helping people in their local community. Giving back has always been part of who they are.
Now it’s our turn to support him.
Every mile he walks is a reminder of the courage, determination, and selfless service that define the Royal Marines. Every donation, no matter how large or small, will help the Royal Marines Association continue its vital work, supporting those who have given so much for our country.
So please, if you can, make a donation. Share Bish’s story. Encourage others to get involved.
Together, let’s help a remarkable man complete a remarkable journey.
From the rugged beauty of the Shetland Islands to the cliffs of Land’s End…
One man.
One mission.
One step at a time.
Please support Robin “Bish” Bishop and help us raise as much as we can for the Royal Marines Association.
Once a Marine Always a Marine
