Story
Wiltshire Museum and the Devizes Assize Court Trust are working together on a highly ambitious and much needed project to renovate the derelict Devizes Assize Court building. It will create a world class destination for Wiltshire Museum's internationally renowned collections, and provide a multi-use space for community benefit
The Frome Half Marathon on the w/e of 15-16 Aug 2026 marks one year since the untimely death of benefactor, founding trustee and a dear friend, Robert Hunt-Grubbe, whose vision, personal leadership and example were instrumental in establishing this inspirational project. Coming from a longstanding Wiltshire family, Robert's forebears had helped to fund the original Assize Court building back in 1835.

The Trust's overall campaign target is £14.8m, with £8.4m already allocated by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
If you can, please donate whatever is affordable and together we'll get one step closer to completing the restoration of this iconic building.
