Story
On 8th July 2026 our baby boy Oliver was born at Royal Preston Hospital.
Within the first 24 hours he was rushed into the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and a bleed was discovered on his brain. Following a CT scan the neuro specialists at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital arranged an emergency transport team to take him from Preston to Manchester in order for them to perform life saving brain surgery to drain a bleed from his brain.
Over the course of the next 5 weeks Oliver underwent a second brain surgery to drain more blood and fluid from his brain and received expert treatment and care from a wide range of Doctors, consultants, ANNPs, nurses and dieticians to name a few.
The Manchester Foundation Trust Charity supports the excellence in treatment, research and care provided to patients each and every day. They aim to make a real difference to the people they treat – young and old – by making sure that they continue to receive the very best treatment in the very best facilities.
