Story
I have set myself the (ambitious!) challenge of walking 205 miles in March for Envision to give young people from less advantaged backgrounds the future-ready Essential Skills and confidence they need to have bright and brilliant futures. Envision's programmes support young people aged 13-17 who are low on confidence and face additional barriers to develop communication, creativity, determination and teamwork - skills that underpin every job and make day-to-day life a whole lot easier too.
Since joining Envision six months ago, I have had the joy and privilege of seeing many of our programmes in action. I've been blown away by the young people pushing themselves out of their comfort zone to grow their Essential Skills and confidence. So it's time to push myself out of my comfort zone and take on my own challenge for Envision.
Why 205 miles?
Envision works across Birmingham, Bristol and London. 205 miles is the distance from our Birmingham office to our Bristol office, and then on to our London office. Walking 205 miles in 31 days means an average of 6.61 miles per day... Wish me luck (and plenty of spring sunshine!)
