For several years, I’ve had the privilege of visiting both campuses of Harberton Special School in Belfast each week to provide haircuts for the children. It’s something I care deeply about, and I’ve seen first-hand how much joy and confidence it brings.

When I recently confirmed with the Vice Principals that I’d be available to continue this during the school’s summer scheme - one day in July and another in August - I was shocked to hear that funding for this programme had not yet been confirmed. I felt a wave of sadness, frustration, and disbelief

I suggested a fundraiser to help keep the scheme alive, and just last week, thankfully, the school received very late confirmation that there would be some funding provided.

While this is a relief, we all know that education budgets rarely stretch far enough, and the children of Harberton deserve more than the bare minimum.

That’s why I’m reaching out. With your help, we can top up the funding to ensure these kids have the best summer scheme possible. It’s not just a week of fun and activities—it’s a break in what can be a long, challenging summer for the children, and valuable daytime respite for their families and carers.

If you’re in a position to give, any amount will be deeply appreciated. Your generosity will go directly toward making these summer weeks brighter, more inclusive, and truly memorable for the Harberton community.

Thank you so much for your support,

Robyn and the entire Harberton Family !🩶
