Raising money for Parkinson's - a charity very close to our hearts.
Organised by the people who have lost their loved ones, have it in the family right now, and are living with it themselves.
Here is a message from them:
I'm thrilled and honoured to be involved in what I think will be a fantastic fundraising event for Parkinson's disease.
Having been diagnosed with Parkinson's myself seven years ago, I haven't really opened up about this other than to family and friends, and I'm so excited to have this opportunity to raise awareness of this terrible disease. Parkinson's has had, and continues to have, a huge impact on my life and my family. However, I'm a great believer in trying to remain as positive as possible and I'm determined to not let this disease get the better of me. Being a drummer, Parkinson's has had a detrimental effect on my playing but I know the best thing is to keep playing for as long as possible.
How serendipitous it was when my good friend Stevo asked me if I would like to be a part of this event. It was a no-brainer for me, especially having known Stevo's dad Paul and him being a sufferer too. It's also a great opportunity for me to get to know Ben, and talk with him about his dad, Dave, a well known Chesterfield muso, who also suffers from this awful disease.
I do hope that you can support this incredible event for this worthwhile cause and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Stevo, Ben and Reece for their hard work putting this event on and for welcoming me into the team.
So make a note in your diaries, Saturday 3rd May at Real Time Live, Marsden Street, Chesterfield and let's all rock for Parkinsons. 👊👊🤘🤘

I want to take this opportunity to say how much I’m looking forward to raising awareness for this fantastic charity. Back in 2020 my father David Hewitt was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. It has affected his life massively as he has been a skilled craftsman of making arms and suits of medieval armour most of his adult life. Not only this but being a musician (bass player in many Rockbands since the 70’s. He is a legend in my eyes and of many in his Home town of Chesterfield.
My dad was most recently in a heavy metal band with myself called Wickerman.
I have recently formed a new band called “Nothings forgotten”
My Band will be debuting our first gig at Real-time live in Chesterfield along with two other fantastic bands “Brude” and “Wicked son” to raise as much money as possible for Parkinson’s. I chose Real-time live for this event, not only for the fact it’s a fantastic venue but I know how much it means to Mark Stephenson (Stevo) the proprietor to be involved in this too as his father another legend of Chesterfield (Paul Stephenson)did also suffer from Parkinson’s.
A lifelong friend of Stevo’s Dave Eyre of Hardcase international (drum case manufacturer) is also on board with us. A legend in the drum world. He is also battling this disease. Dave is so excited to be on board to help with the event to raise awareness. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this. We really hope you can make this awesome night of music or could donate to this fantastic charity.
~ Ben Hewitt (Nothings forgotten)
