Edinburgh Marathon 2025 · 25 May 2025 ·

1 in 100 people have coeliac disease, yet only 36% are diagnosed. Coeliac UK empowers everyone affected, breaking down barriers, improving everyday life, offering trusted support and advancing research towards a cure. And we do it all so that one day, no one’s life will be limited by gluten.

Story

Last summer my 4-year old grand-daughter learned that she has coeliac disease; since then the strictly gluten-free diet has revolutionised her health and her enjoyment of life. The information and guidance from CoeliacUK's research has been of considerable value in guiding her family to understand the condition, manage symptoms and support her to live gluten-free, such as listings ingredients and recipes for meals at home and which restaurants can be relied on to prepare gluten-free food.

I am taking the challenge to support CoeliacUK by entering the Edinburgh Marathon on 25th May 2025. I last ran a marathon 11 years ago. Unsurprisingly, 'tempus fugit' convinces my body that the training is much harder work this time around, especially in 'sunny' Scotland! Please consider funding my efforts in training and the final event so that CoeliacUK can continue their work. Thank you.
