The 2026 Father's Day challenge is to cover 50 miles and a height equivalent to England's tallest mountain in just 24 hours. All in support of our mission is to end the waiting list for fatherless boys in need of a male mentor.

Story

Some of you will know I've been involved with Chapter2 for over 3 years, both as a mentor to a 15 year old boy and as an Advisor to the Board of Trustees. Chapter2 provides male mentors to adolescent boys that have grown up without a father or male role model in their lives. Fatherless boys will grow up to face far more challenges than your average boy. Unemployment, academic failure, depression, anxiety and poverty later in life are all far more likely. It is a rapidly growing problem in our society.

I have seen first hand the huge positive impact Chapter2 has had on the boys that are lucky enough to secure a place on the programme and yet we have a long and growing waiting list of boys yet to secure a mentor. Demand continues to rise.

Last year, funds raised from our Fathers Day Challenge directly contributed to growing the team, As a direct result, more boys have been able to secure a place on the programme over the past year.

So on Father's Day weekend 2026, a group of us will be setting out to run, walk, hobble and crawl 50 miles in the Peak District National Park in just 24 hours. This includes climbing the height equivalent to England's tallest mountain (Scafell Pike). However, their ultimate challenge is to raise £100K to bring an end to the fatherless crisis.

Please support Chapter2 as we look to write hope into the fatherless story.
