Sick, injured and homeless pets have relied on us since 1897. Thousands of abandoned or unwanted, ill or injured, pets turn to us for help every year. Our doors are always open to them, and with your support, they always will be.

Story

I first came across the Blue Cross https://www.bluecross.org.uk/ when I was at school; my mother took our dog to the Hammersmith clinic. I needed to do work experience before I applied to veterinary college so I approached the Blue Cross. I was very lucky to spend three weeks at The Blue Cross hospital in Victoria in the summer of 1987 (yes how long ago). I'm convinced the experience was instrumental in getting me through my interview at Edinburgh. Being able to help with bandages, operations and consultations gave me a real insight to veterinary practice and helped me answer the questions the interview panel threw at me.

More recently I have completed the accredited pet loss support course run by the Blue Cross - https://www.bluecross.org.uk/pet-loss-support I learned so much.

The Blue Cross is a charity and their vital work across so many fields (veterinary treatment, rehoming, pet food banks, supporting owners with the loss of their companion animals and more) is so important.
