Story
In a few weeks time, I will be taking part in a 200 mile Ultra-Marathon across the mountains of South Wales to raise money for the Samaritans, a charity that provides support to people who struggle with mental health issues, offering people a place to talk about their feelings without judgement.
This challenge is personal.
Last year, we lost someone very close and special to us. He was from South Wales and loved walking on these mountains.
To honour his memory and as part of this 200 mile journey, I will be running across the same Welsh mountains he enjoyed so much with something very special to him.
Every mile will be a reminder of him and why this matters so much.
This will be the toughest challenge I have ever undertaken, so if you are able to donate, no matter how small the amount - it will help the Samaritans to continue their incredible work in supporting those who need it the most.
Many people find it hard to speak openly or ask for help, but talking can be life-saving – whether it's with a colleague, family member, friend or helpline like Samaritans.
Every 10 seconds, Samaritans volunteers respond to a call for help. Samaritans are available, for free, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to listen and support people with whatever they are facing, with no judgement.
It’s only your kind donations and 23,000 listening volunteers that ensure Samaritans can always be there for anyone struggling to cope.
Thank you for your help.
