Roisin is running a marathon for Alice's WonderDance

Roisin Porter is raising money for Community Foundations for Lancashire and Merseyside

Dublin Marathon 2025 · 26 October 2025 ·

Alice’s WonderDance exists to carry forward the vibrant, joyful legacy of Alice Aguiar; a fearless, expressive, and generous dancer who moved through life with rhythm, light, and compassion.

Story

Very implausibly I will be running the Dublin Marathon on 26 October. To motivate me over the finish line I would love to raise some money for Alice’s Wonderdance. I would be so grateful for any donations no matter how small.

Alice’s WonderDance, is a foundation created and inspired by Alice Da Silva Aguiar who tragically died in the Southport attack last year.

I’ve chosen this charity as Southport is close to home for me and I have been really inspired by Alice’s dad, Sergio, who is running the six world major marathons in her memory.

Below is more about the charity from Alice’s parents:

We don’t look back with sadness — we move forward with purpose, spreading the same energy and love that Alice brought to every space she danced in.

We believe dance is more than movement, it’s freedom, creativity, connection, and joy. Our work removes barriers so that every child can access dance, explore their passion, and grow through movement in a safe, empowering space.

All funds raised will go directly to Alice’s WonderDance Foundation, delivered in partnership with the Community Foundation Lancashire and Merseyside.
