Story
I'm so excited (and slightly terrified) to share that in January 2027 I'll be taking on The Arctic Challenge!
The Arctic Challenge is a four-day endurance challenge in Lapland that includes a 35km dog sled, ice fishing, and a 20km hike through the Arctic wilderness. Safe to say it's a lil outside of my comfort zone!
I'm expecting temperatures of around -30°C, lots of snow, and at least a few moments of questioning my life choices. However, knowing that it's all for such an incredible cause will keep me going.
For the challenge, I'll be raising money for the National Literacy Trust, a charity that helps children in some of the UK's most disadvantaged communities develop the literacy skills they need to thrive.
Anyone who knows me will know that I am a huge advocate for reading. Reading has always been such a huge part of my life, and I truly believe every child deserves the chance to experience the joy, confidence, and opportunities that books and reading can bring. This is unfortunately not a reality for many children.
On average, children from the poorest backgrounds start school 19 months behind their more privileged peers and those without the expected level of literacy skills are held back at every stage of their lives.
My goal is to raise £2,200 before the challenge to help give more children the opportunity to build those vital reading skills and close that gap, even if it's just a little.
If you're reading this, thank you for supporting me and this great cause! ❄️
