Since joining the YMCA of Greater Charlotte nearly two years ago, I have seen the heart-felt passion of the staff and volunteers towards our communities and our children.

As we approach the Childress Klein & Dowd YMCAs - Day of Giving, I am reminded of the countless children whose lives have been positively impacted by the youth development programs at the Y. The Y has been a beacon of hope for many families in our community, providing over $2 million in financial scholarships for essential programs like preschool, afterschool, and summer camp. Additionally, more than 3,000 children have benefited from literacy instruction through programs like Y Readers, offered at no charge to participants. Furthermore, over 1,500 children have received affordable swimming lessons, enriching their lives and ensuring their safety.
