Story
Many thanks for clicking on this link and for considering sponsoring our cycle ride and contributing to our charity. Our plan is focussed on an 11.3 mile loop that starts and finishes at the Smiddy Field and includes almost 800 feet of ascent. One of our Trustees (Ronald MacVicar) aims to cycle nine loops on Wednesday 22nd October (so over 100 miles and over 7000 feet of ascent – more than twice the height of Ben Wyvis), joined for the final lap by those other Trustees that are available and able.
Knocknagael is a charity based on the south-west edge of Inverness and our aim is to take the Smiddy Field (part of the Knocknagael Bull Stud Farm) into community ownership as an asset for the local population with a focus on community growing. We are in the final stages of acquiring the Field under the Community Asset Transfer provision of the Community Empowerment Act, and our focus will rapidly move from the bureaucracy of the Asset Transfer process to implementing our ambitious plans for the Field.
Fundraising is an important challenge for us, and we would be extremely grateful if you could consider sponsoring this bike ride.
