Ben Nevis 12x in 96hrs

Ronan Tierney is raising money for STEPS TO HOPE
Our Founder and Director of operation’s Richie Roncero will embark on his biggest challenge to date. Richie will attempt to sleep rough for 6 months around the UK to raise awareness of homelessness and funds to increase capacity at Hope House.

Story

For the past three years, I’ve volunteered with Steps to Hope, an Edinburgh-based charity supporting people affected by homelessness and addiction. I’ve seen firsthand how life-changing recovery can be when people are given the right support.

We’re incredibly proud to have recently secured planning permission to build a new five-bedroom property at Hope House, increasing the capacity of our residential recovery programme by 50%. This programme is completely free for those battling addiction who truly want to recover.

To help fund this vital expansion, I’m taking on an extreme challenge at Ben Nevis, the UK’s tallest mountain. After climbing it three times in 24 hours last year, I’ll now be pushing further than ever before — 12 ascents in 4 days (96 hours).

On top of this, on the 4th, 8th and final climb I will be going up and down alongside 3 teams of 4 graduates from the amazing recovery programme. Climbing with 12 in total. This is to serve as a constant reminder to me and everyone else of the incredible positive impact that Steps to Hope has on people’s lives.

This challenge is about endurance, hope, and giving more people the chance to rebuild their lives.
