I am raising money for Heatons Cats in loving memory of Ronnie, who touched so many lives and brought a great deal of happiness to everyone around him.

Ronnie was a very special cat who had survived the worst. He had been abandoned by his previous owners and left to fend for himself, living outside for 3 years before being rescued in a terrible state. His health was very poor and they weren’t sure if he would make because of his old age and multiple health conditions which had been left untreated, including skin cancer on his ears.

Thanks to the wonderful team at Heatons Cats, they were able to give Ronnie the second chance he deserved, and he underwent a successful surgery to remove his ears. Ronnie was then able to spend the final year of his life enjoying a happy retirement where he was warm, fed, and well loved. He cuddled up to me in bed every night and would sit on anyone’s lap at any given opportunity – it was clear he just wanted the affection he had missed out on for so long!

I cannot emphasise enough how brilliant the team at Heatons Cats are in doing everything they can to ensure the cats receive the best care and go to the most loving homes. Unfortunately, this is expensive and rescues are constantly overwhelmed, meaning funding is always needed.

If you are able to donate, this will go towards essentials such as food and vets bills for the many cats like Ronnie who are cared for by the rescue before going to their forever homes. Any donation, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated and will make a difference!

Ronnie’s story highlights the important work rescue charities do for the animals that would otherwise be forgotten. Thanks to Heatons Cats, Ronnie will never be forgotten.
