Walking from Clacton train station to Millwall football club · 2 October 2025

We’re Mind, the mental health charity, working across England & Wales. We believe no one should face a mental health problem alone. We’re here for you. Whether you’re stressed, depressed or in crisis. We’ll listen, give support & advice, & fight your corner. Thanks for fundraising for national Mind.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is Ronnie Lambert formerly known from the BBC’s warship (tour of duty), Rondogg Vines and Rondogg MC.

I have struggled for years and years with mental health and substance abuse which in reality made things even more difficult to cope in my head and life.

I’ve lost almost everything due to both mental health and misuse of class a drugs, been through toxic relationship after toxic relationship, lost jobs, homes leading me to be homeless, living in cars and washing in public toilets on seafronts.

There is no real end or escape from the cycle, once it gets you, it doesn’t let go and you end up having to carry the weight of the world.

Everytime it happens it gets harder to pick yourself up and move on.

I’ve spent too many years covering it up, wasting my life and pretending everything is “fine” to the rest of the world.

It has put a struggle on my family, my children and my loved ones.

I am lucky to still have them here and be alive.

So now I’m taking a stand to change my own life and hopefully show others there is a way out of this pure hell we live on earth in our own heads. If I can help myself or even just one other person then to me that’s a massive win!

I will be walking from Clacton on sea train station to Millwall football club in order to raise funds and awareness for the charity Mind and those struggling with mental health and addiction.

I will be leaving on Thursday 2nd October in order to get to the Millwall vs West Brom match on Saturday the 4th October for the 3pm kick off at The Den.

Millwall football club has been a constant positive in my life since the age of 9 years old when my dad took me to my first game against Crewe Alexander at The Den where we won 2 nil and I never looked back! Millwall football club is a place where in those 90 minutes I have respite from my demons. I’ve always been welcomed and treated with respect by staff the players and the fans through all those years! So it’s only fitting that Millwall football club should be a massive part of this journey.

The total distance is 70 miles ! I will be staying in a tent when resting after the first day of walking and the 2nd night once closer a bed and breakfast, then walk the rest of the distance on game day.

I really wish for your support and donations as this is for a cause a lot bigger than all of us and I’m sure we are all touched in some way by the suffering of mental health and addiction.

Many thanks

Ronnie lambert
