Between Monday 3rd April to Wednesday 26th April the Roots Team will be holding a sponsored Step Challenge. Together we will raise money on behalf of WaterAid by walking the number of steps it would take to walk to our Ecologi site in The Democratic Republic of Congo.

Our Ecologi site in the Democratic Republic of Congo, is designed to help to reduce carbon emissions, but also the local communities and biodiversity. It is certified to Verra’s Climate, Community and Biodiversity Standard (CCBS), showing the project’s intentions to bring significant co-benefits to the local people and nature. Some of the revenue from the carbon credits this project is issued with will be going directly to local communities, and they will decide what they want to spend it on to improve the lives of local people. 

There is approximately 4,004 miles between Brighton and The Democratic Republic of Congo which roughly equates to 8,008000 steps we will need to walk in 23 days to make it to The Democratic Republic of Congo! 

Each member of the team will need to walk 9410 steps each day for 23 days to hit our target.
