Story
I'm running the Summer Spine race in aid of the Injured Jockeys Fund (IJF). This is a 268 mile ultramarathon starting on 18th June along the entire Pennine way, the Spine of England, from Edale in the Derbyshire Peak District to Kirk Yetholm in the Scottish borders. This is a non stop event equivalent to 10 marathons, up hill and down dale and unsupported.
The IJF is a fantastic charity providing support in many ways to both current jockeys in their return from injury but also former jockeys who are in need of help and support. Many will have seen me running numerous laps of northern racecourses as part of the training, however this will be a little tougher than 5 laps of Thirsk or even Pontefract and somewhat more undulating. Every penny will help spur me on when things get tough. It will certainly get tough.
