Rory's Cycling Challenge for Headway - the brain injury association

Simeon Ewing is raising money for Headway - the brain injury association

Cycling the Shipwright's Way in Hampshire · 3 October 2026

EVERY 90 SECONDS someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury (ABI). There are many possible causes, such as a fall, a road traffic accident, an assault, a tumour or a stroke. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. When it does, we're here to help

Story

Hi, my name is Rory Hillier and I am 13 years old and my Step-dad and I will be doing a 50-mile bike ride (Which I have never done in my life) along the whole of The Shipwright's Way to raise money for the charity Headway. The reason I have chosen this charity is because when my Uncle was young he fell out the top floor window and landed on packed mud (which is just the same as concrete), Headway then supported him and also helped him. When he had his surgery he was told that he was paralyzed on his right side and that he will never be able to do anything for himself, but Headway then taught him how to take care of himself and now he is living in a house with a full-time job as a Amazon driver that he did all by himself. So we are trying to pay back Headway for all the kindness they showed towards my Uncle.
