Story

Overall Target is £20,000

Hi everyone!

We’re Bernie Torley and Rosie Small — sisters on a mission to raise as much money as we can for the incredible Evora Hospice formerly Southern Area Hospice by taking on a huge challenge: the Great Wall of China Trek in September 2026!

Now, anyone who knows me (Bernie) knows just how unfit I am and how far out of my comfort zone this is going to be — but that’s exactly why I’m doing it! It’s a real challenge, but one I’m determined to take on, because this cause means the world to both of us.

The Hospice is incredibly close to our hearts. Our mummy, auntie and two uncles all received care from the Hospice, and I am also proud and privileged to work there as a Nurse Manager. Every day, I see first-hand the impact the team in Hospice has on patients and their families — not only in the inpatient unit but throughout the wider community.

It’s not just a place of care, it’s a place of compassion, dignity, and unwavering support. The team go above and beyond every single day — not because they have to, but because they truly care.

This trek is our way of giving back and helping ensure this essential service can continue supporting families like ours. We would be so grateful if you could donate whatever you can — every penny really does make a difference.

Thank you so much for your support,

Bernie & Rosie
