We Raise funds to purchase defibrillators to Improve cardiac arrest survival rates

Story

I am raising funds to pay for the installation of a defibrillator at the Rose and Crown pub.

Thames Valley Heartbeat have kindly donated the defibrillator and Horseshoe Lake have kindly paid for the box for it to be securely housed in.

We had a Christmas raffle which was to raise funds for the electricain for the installation of the defibrillator but sadly the pot of money was stolen. I am reaching out to the community and asking for donations so that we can get this installed at the Rose and Crown pub.

This will be accessible to everyone in the Sandhurst community and surrounds. Any extra funds will be donated to Thames Valley Heartbeat.

About the charity

We aim to support communities by providing public access defibrillators which are available 24/7. Thames Valley Heartbeat also provides free confidence building familiarisation sessions on CPR and the use of a defibrillator. Cardiac arrest is a leading cause of premature death, but with immediate treatment, many lives can be saved. The heart stops because the electrical rhythm that controls the heart is replaced by a disorganised electrical rhythm. The quicker this can be treated, the greater the chance of successful resuscitation. Cardiac arrest can be reversible, but it is vital it is recognised and acted upon in the first few seconds or minutes. Lives can be saved by CPR and the use of a defibrillator.
