Story
I am running the 2026 Great North Run for Newcastle Rugby Foundation!
Since joining the Foundation as Marketing and Communications Exec, I’ve seen first-hand the incredible impact our work has on the people who need us most.
Many people might look at our name and think we’re just another sports charity, but we are so much more than rugby. Each year, we help change the lives of more than 18,500 people across the North East.
From people struggling with loneliness to those living with physical disabilities, we use rugby as a vehicle to bring people together, promote healthy lifestyles and, most importantly, have a good laugh.
I’ve seen young people find purpose and independence, older adults reconnect with friends through our walking rugby sessions, and everyday working mums regain confidence through our fitness programmes. I’ve seen young girls learn about the impact of social media on body image, children from disadvantaged households enjoy a rare hot meal at our HAF camps, and people with Down syndrome feel included, valued and able to thrive as part of a team.
Our impact is felt far and wide, and I’m incredibly proud to be representing the Foundation by running this year’s Great North Run.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, I’d be hugely grateful. Every single penny helps us continue changing lives across our region. Thank you for your support! 💙🏃♂️🏃♀️
