Abi's fundraiser for Brighton & Hove Arts Council

South Coast Ultra Challenge 2025 · 6 September 2025 to 7 September 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am excited to be participating in the South Coast Ultra Challenge on September 6 2025, in support of Brighton & Hove Arts Council (BHAC). This delightful charity, run entirely by volunteers, champions vibrant not-for-profit creative arts communities of Brighton & Hove and the neighbouring towns and villages of East and West Sussex.
BHAC prints and circulates a free quarterly listings magazine, The Arts Diary, which publicises the work of BHAC's member groups. BHAC also hosts a lively calendar of events that showcase visual arts, theatre, and poetry, recognising outstanding work produced within the creative arts community.
Ongoing funding is crucial for BHAC to continue nurturing creativity and providing opportunities for artists and performers in our community. By supporting this cause, you are helping to ensure that art remains accessible to everyone and that our local culture continues to thrive.
I kindly ask for your support in reaching my fundraising target of £1000. Every contribution counts and will make a significant difference to the arts in our area. Together, we can inspire creativity and foster a love for that which enriches life.
About me:
I have lived in Hove since 2014, and I am a business owner in the mobile games industry, but now largely retired. Nowadays I like to volunteer with local community groups, and I joined BHAC as their Social Media Manager in late 2022. I enjoy tinkering with websites, doing a bit of graphic design, taking photographs, and doing my best to publicise the work of BHAC <3
I took up running shortly after moving to Hove from Oxford. Starting off with Couch to 5K, I got the bug immediately, and after a few months completed my first half marathon. I am drawn to endurance sports and am really looking forward to finding out about the South Coast Challenge in September - on the day after my birthday!
About the South Coast Challenge 100K:
Starting off in Eastbourne, the course runs over Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters, then hits the South Downs Way before heading down to Brighton seafront. The halfway point is Hove Park, after which the route joins up with the South Downs Way again via Devils Dyke, meandering along the downs to finish up in historic Arundel.
