In September I will be running the Great North Run for Smart Works Newcastle. This will be my final Smart Works fundraiser, having worked at the charity for over eight years.

There have been so many highlights during my eight years at Smart Works but helping to open a centre in the region where I grew up was a very special moment. It feels fitting that my last hurrah will be to run an iconic North East race for this charity that has meant so much to me.

For those of you who have somehow missed this, Smart Works dresses and coaches unemployed women for their job interview. We empower each woman by giving her the clothes and confidence she needs to succeed. After visiting Smart Works, 63% of clients secure a job within a month, starting a new chapter and transforming their lives.
