Volunteers working at Cherish and other projects had the opportunity , last year, to play football against a Kenyan village team called Supernova FC. This team was started to keep teenagers and Young men off the streets and out of trouble by encouraging them to come to training sessions and play football. For the past 2 years they have played in a Southampton strip with boots donated by UK volunteers and their friends. The team started to play against other village teams and having a proper strip made a real difference. They felt a real pride in representing their village, more kids are staying at school to participate and the team is growing and now has boys and girls teams from age 10 to 25.

This project enables us to help keep young people in education, instead of drifting into a life of petty crime, as well as keeping kids safe from traffickers.

This year a kind designer in the US, Bastion FC, has designed a crest and shirts for the teams - A Tie dye shirt for the teens and up and a 'Tribal' design for the youngsters. He is offering to match shirts donated by supporters, so for every £30 donated we will get 2 bespoke shirts.
