Story
In July, I'll be taking part in Raptör 2026, a gruelling 420km cycle over 3.5 days, with 5000m of elevation, tackling the brutal winding climbs of Germany's Black Forest and scaling Tour de France mountain stages in the Vosges National Park before finishing in Strasbourg.
This will by far be the most challenging bike ride I have ever done, but the cause is worth every painful pedal stroke.
Action Medical Research are a fantastic children's charity who have been funding medical breakthroughs for over 70 years now, starting from testing the UK’s first polio vaccine in 1955, through to discovering the importance of folic acid, the use of ultrasound in pregnancy, the rubella vaccine, and beyond. As a father these are things which I take for granted these days, but they wouldn’t have been possible without the research funded by charities like Action.
The scientists and researchers supported by Action Medical Research dedicate their lives to preventing children from suffering or dying prematurely. Their work is truly inspiring - and critically dependant on funding.
Any support you can give will make a difference.
