Story
I’m running the Edinburgh Marathon in May 2027 to raise money for ChoirBLAST - a charity that believes that music is for everyone and "brings people together through the joy of singing".
Through their community choirs, ChoirBLAST partners with charities, schools, care homes, and local organisations to give people of all ages and abilities the chance to experience the power of singing together - including both children and adults with complex disabilities and challenges. They currently support over 200 people each week and are working to expand that reach even further.
Music has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember, so this is something I really believe in. I also have so much admiration for Phoebe, the charity's CEO, whose selflessness and dedication (and true talent!) has created something that has helped so many people. My mum volunteers behind the scenes with ChoirBLAST too, which has given me an added appreciation of just how much work and care goes into making it all happen.
The annual ChoirBLAST festival (bringing together over 3,000 singers) is a brilliant example of this mission in action - full of energy, positivity, and a real sense of belonging, bringing people together simply for the love of singing.
This is a big personal challenge for me, so any support would mean a lot - thank you so much!
