Story
I am running the Edinburgh Half Marathon for Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland. It's the first time I've ever run this far [guys, running is hard!] and so will be a huge challenge!
Amongst many other ways they support patients and their families, Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland provide a free advice and counselling line for people who have witnessed or delivered CPR.
Last summer my husband unexpectedly had a heart attack and an out of hospital cardiac arrest. I had to deliver CPR at home whilst our girls played in the next room. We are so lucky that he has made a full recovery.
In the first few weeks after the event the nurses provided me with vital support and counselling through their free advice line. Their support normalised what I was feeling, was so kind and warm and provided me with the information I needed. This charity supported me through one of the most challenging few weeks of my life and was invaluable to me and my family so it's really important to me to give back.
Any donation big or small would be gratefully received!
