Rosie's fundraiser for Little People UK

Brighton Half Marathon 2025 · 2 March 2025 ·
In 2012, in my peak fitness (pre children!), I completed the Royal Park’s half marathon and finished with a knee injury and a promise to never do one again 😆 I am not a natural runner and don’t particularly enjoy running. But, after a huge year and a half and a bid to push myself out of my comfort zone and continue to raise awareness of Arlo’s condition, I’m attempting the Brighton Half Marathon on 2nd March 2025 😱
I’m lucky enough to be running alongside my best friend and Arlo’s godmother Kat and my cousin Josh 🤍
Arlo is our special 1 in 25/30,000. We discovered Arlo’s diagnosis at 28 weeks of pregnancy. There is a massive lack of awareness of Achondroplasia (Dwarfism) in the UK and the health impacts that it can bring. Some of which you will know we have experienced since Arlo was born in August 2023.
I’m pretty anxious and have started a training plan with Physio support. I’m not going to get a good time; I’m doing it to get through and show myself that I can do things I didn’t think I could again. I’m raising funds for the charity ‘Little People UK’. Little People UK was co-founded in January 2012 by actor Warwick Davis, his wife Samantha and a group of individuals. It is lead by a voluntary committee of 12 and one member of staff, that relies on fundraising and generous donations.
I couldn’t be more proud of my boy and his constant smile and strength. He, and we, have been through a lot in his life so far and I will always be by his side, advocating for him every step of the way.
Please help me to raise funds for this charity to continue their important work and raise awareness.
Kat- thank you for always being there. Between our 5 children this will probably be the best catch up we’ve had in ages 🤣
Arlo- Mummy loves you so much 🩵
