Story
Hi all👋
I lost my dad, Erik, to cancer earlier this year. It was an awful and incredibly challenging time for my family.
My dad received care from the community palliative care team at St Luke’s. They worked seamlessly with the Community Nurses and GP to coordinate care so that my dad could have his wish to die at home. They made sure he was as comfortable as he could have been and continue to offer support to our family even though my dad is gone.
To us the care they have given us feels essential yet only 23% of their costs are government funded, and over £11 million needs to be raised each year so they can continue their work.
I want to honour my dads memory by being strong, completing this 10K, and giving back to St Luke’s so they can continue to provide support to the next family who find themselves in the unthinkable situation we did.
Anything that you can donate to my page will make a huge difference!
