The Friends of the Baby Unit was established 49 years ago (1976) to raise money for equipment for use in the intensive care of preterm and sick newborn babies being cared for on the Neonatal unit at The Royal Derby Hospital. The money raised over that time is now over £2 million pounds. Thank you

Story

When my twin nieces were born by emergency c-section in May 2024 at just 27 weeks, it threw our family into a world of incubators, baby heart monitors and the tiniest nappies you’ve ever seen. The care they received at both the Derby and Nottingham units was incredible & the teams there do an exceptional job providing support to so many families at the hardest times.

I’ll be forever grateful for getting to meet Callie, even if only for a short time, and forever grateful for the amazing care that Poppy received so she could grow into the most smiley baby she is today 💕

So this is just a small effort* from me say to thank you & give something back to make sure families in the future can receive the same support.

Any donations very gratefully received! ✌️

*I thought it was a small effort when I started training in Jan but turns out (having only ran 10k before this training block), 21k is quite a big effort 😅
