I’m running the Edinburgh Women’s 10k to raise money for Endometriosis UK.

Talking about endometriosis is so important to me because there are still so many people who don't understand or even know about the disease and just how much it affects your life.

1 in 10 women in the UK suffer from endometriosis. The average diagnosis time is 8 years from the first gp visit. There is currently no cure.

For nearly 7 years, I have been living in on and off pain with absolutely horrible periods. No doctor ever believed me, told me it was normal and just put me on the pill to mask the symptoms. This year, I have managed to push and advocate for myself in getting a diagnosis. This happens to women every single day, I have spoken to so many girls who are STILL in the same position I was, being gaslit and dismissed by their GP.

Endometriosis is a whole body disease. It's your fertility. It's your whole way of life. There is no cure. More needs to be done so that women suffering get the answers & treatment that they need.
