Rosie runs the London Marathon 2025 for Leuchie House National Respite Centre

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
Leuchie House support people living with the long-term effects of conditions such as MS, MND, Parkinson’s and other neurological conditions through individualised respite breaks, and by providing an essential break for carers.
I’ve been working with Leuchie House since 2022. When I’m not travelling around Latin America or attending university, you will find me at Leuchie House. Being part of the care team has allowed me to be at the centre of the guests care. I have seen how much these Leuchie breaks really impact the guests and their carers lives. I have had the privilege to expand my knowledge about neurological conditions in hopes that one day there will be a solution.
In summer, 2024, I completed the Camino de Santiago. I walked 780km across northern Spain. What I realised during this adventure is how lucky I am that I was able to do something like that. The physical and mental challenge to wake up everyday and walk to reach my final destination was intense. However, on my journey I thought about all the guests and the future guests who will come to Leuchie house and how some are unable to walk anymore. It makes me grateful I was able to do this and I cherish these moments and can share them in a small way with Leuchie’s guests.
I will run the London marathon in April 2025 in honour of all the guests. By doing so I hope to raise money to give more guests the opportunity to access the service Leuchie provides as well as support them in their general life and give their carers a well deserved break.
Frank (pictured above in June 2024) constantly makes me laugh and it’s a pleasure to spend his holidays at Leuchie House working alongside him.
Let’s raise enough money so guests like Frank can keep coming to Leuchie House!
