Story
Hi, I’m Rosie Devitt.
In 1999 I planned a ride across Ireland on my horse Copaill to raise funds for the charity “Riding for the Disabled” A small party of us set off from Sligo and headed for Holywood. Our trip was successful. We managed to raise almost £5000 for the charity.
Now, at 87 years old, I’m setting out again — this time by car, alongside my husband Irvine (who’s 93!). We’ll be retracing the original route from Sligo to Holywood over four days in September.
To make this journey meaningful, I’ve committed to walking one to two miles every single day — including throughout the trip — to raise funds for Animal Free Research UK, a charity dedicated to advancing science without testing on animals.
We’re paying all our own costs — so every penny donated goes directly to the charity.
Thank you for reading my story and considering a donation to this wonderful cause.
Warmest wishes,
Rosie
