Story
On Saturday 6th September 2025, our amazing daughter Rosie will be taking on the 4km Junior Great North Run – something we never thought would be possible when she was first diagnosed as a baby.
At our 20-week scan, we were told Rosie had Transposition of the Great Arteries, a serious congenital heart condition. She was born a little fighter and, at just 14 days old, underwent open heart surgery at the Freeman Hospital. Thanks to the incredible care from the surgeons, doctors, nurses – and the wonderful support from the charity CHUF (Children’s Heart Unit Fund) – Rosie is here with us today.
Now 10 years old, Rosie is beautiful, loud, energetic, and truly our hero. She never lets anything hold her back, and she wants to give back by raising money for the Freeman Hospital, CHUF, and all the incredible staff (including the clown doctors!) who have cared for her every step of the way.
Rosie still has yearly heart check-ups at the Freeman, and every single time we’re reminded that the people who work there are real-life heroes without capes.
Please sponsor Rosie as she takes on this incredible challenge. Every donation will help other children born with heart conditions receive the same world-class care and support that saved her life.
Thank you 💖
