Starting Wednesday the 9th of July over the course of 4 days I will be attempting to walk the 140 miles from Halesowen to Coity in the south of Wales. This is my biggest challenge to date in the hope of raising much needed funds for the Dreams & Wishes Charity.

The inspiration for this challenge is a little girl called Betsy Williams. Betsy is a family friend who in early 2023 was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and was immediately admitted to Noah's Ark Children's Hospital, for Wales in Cardiff, where a play therapist was able to explain the diagnosis to her in a way that she could understand. Within two days chemotherapy had started, since then Betsy has undergone chemo, lumbar punctures, steroids and spent months upon months in hospital fighting.

Dream and Wishes is multi award winning charity dedicated to helping seriously ill children and their families. They have been instrumental in putting a smile on Betsy's face during the most difficult days with her battle against leukaemia. They have paid for the Williams family to attend the Harry Potter studios, a memorable trip to London, parties and given tickets to shows and pantos. They have allowed them to make memories to last a life time. Any funds that can be raised to support the work of the charity is very much needed.
