On Sunday 26th May 2024, I will be attempting to run the Edinburgh marathon, representing Law Enforcement Torch Run - Scotland, to raise funds for Special Olympics Great Britain (SOGB). Foolishly, I have done very little to prepare for this run, having only completed 4 runs this year, and never a marathon distance. This will be a huge challenge for me, but one I am keen to give my all, to raise funds for a great cause.

SOGB is a non-profit organisation providing year-round sports training and athletic competition in summer and winter sports for children and adults of ALL abilities with intellectual disabilities also known as learning disabilities.

SOGB is so much more than just a sport organisation. Through sport they provide opportunities for athletes to make friends, learn social skills, feel part of a community, increase confidence and self-esteem, realise potential, develop physical fitness and mental well-being, demonstrate courage and experience joy and pride - and to have some FUN!
