Story
Throughout this September, I’m running 100km to raise money for Bolton Hospice — an incredible, independent charity that relies heavily on donations to continue providing specialist care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses.
This cause is extremely personal to me and my family. My wife’s mum, Carol, is currently being cared for at Bolton Hospice following a devastating cancer diagnosis — one that was sadly missed. By the time it was discovered, the cancer had progressed too far. That misdiagnosis has been incredibly hard to come to terms with, and it makes the care she’s now receiving all the more important to us.
Carol is the kind of person who would do anything for anyone — full of love, generosity, and strength. Seeing her so well looked after at Bolton Hospice has brought us some comfort during an incredibly difficult time. The team there have not only cared for Carol with compassion and dignity, but have also supported Kerry, myself, and our whole family in ways we’ll never forget.
I’m doing this run to give something back — to say thank you, and to help ensure that others can receive the same outstanding care when they need it most.
Any donation, big or small, would mean the world to us. Thank you so much for your support 💙
