I'm running the York 10k because I want to support the Work of the RSPCA York, Harrogate & District Branch, who never give up on a re-homeable animal.

Animals come in to them in three main ways: Brought in by inspectors after the animals have been rescued from a unfit environment; handed over by owners who can no longer meets the needs of their pet and animals that are found injured or abandoned brought in by concerned members of the public.

The York Animal Home, are an independent charity and primarily self funded. The money they spend on our work at the home is raised in York, Harrogate and surrounding areas.

They rehome on average 400 animals a year into their forever homes. Please help show these animals a life they deserve.

To make it interesting and to provide you all with value for money I’m suggesting a structured offering.

My fastest 10km time is 44:14 and I’m only getting older, slower and more injury prone. As such my offering is as follows:

≥ 44:14: I will cover ALL sponsorship donations out of my own pocket by way of a cash refund

43:01 ≥ time ≤ 44:13: 50% of your donation, I will refund 50%

≤ 43:00: 100% of your donation

Injury abandon/non-starter I will cover the minimum donation of £100 but call FM on sponsorship

Finish time will the determined as the lower of: Race chip timing or Garmin 10km time.

Charitable side bets are also welcome.
