We are taking on running challenges to raise funds for our amazing local charity, Downright Perfect, for World Down's Syndrome Day on the 21st March 2024.

I am taking on the New Forest Trail Half Marathon on the 23rd March and Amy is smashing (maybe!) the Bournemouth Bay 10k on the 24th March.

We are fundraising for Downright Perfect to enable them to provide essential support for children and young people with Down's Syndrome and their families in Dorset.

Our little Betty is 17 months now and after all the health struggles she has had and continues to go through, we're so lucky to have a local group that provides us with a valued support network to help us navigate the challenges we face as a family.

They provide access to professional services and resources to support child development, organise family events where we can have fun and some normality away from hospital and offer financial grants to enable families to access much needed equipment or therapy to aid their child's development.

We first met the charity when we were pregnant with Betty and could see the amazing support that they provided locally for families. They dropped us off a gift pack when Betty was first born and in hospital. They do this for every family who have just had a baby with Down's Syndrome in Dorset so they are given support and care from the first moment they meet their baby. And know that their community is there for them, when they are ready.

They run pre-schoolers groups for younger children like Betty allowing them to access themed sessions to support their development including signing, sensory and soft play, as well as other visits to sites where children & families gets some protected time to enjoy activities such as swimming, dance classes & farm visits. Maisie goes along too and has a brilliant time!

They have ambitious plans to help children and families thrive, develop and reach their potential but need support to do this.

Downright Perfect is completely volunteer run and relies entirely upon donations and grants to operate so please sponsor us today to help us give something back!
