Story
Firstly, ta muchly for having a look at this cause; you're doing me a solid by entertaining clicking on the link.
So, cards on the table, I've gained some weight in previous years (as have we all (some of us anyway)) and I've decided to take some proactive action in getting more mobile and being able to run afer my kids again. I was toying with a lot of different approaches: Gym, Walking, Cycling - the usual suspects. But then I came across the UWCB Charity Boxing program.
Basically, the program is going to put me through 8 weeks of training to get me ready to get battered lumps out of in a ring by someone of an equal skill, stature and weight class. I've always loved boxing but never had the drive to get back in to it; so why not do it for a great cause?
I'm choosing to support our amazing team at Ardgowan Hospice. Not only have they served Inverclyde tirelessly at some of the worst times in any family's lives, but they have done so under consant threat of cutbacks over the years. Without the support of Inverclyde, Ardgowan couldn't continue their amazing work; hence why I've decided to use my UWCB program to raise a target of £500 (hopefully we can get more!) to pass on to a much loved and much needed cause!
Please, give what you can and share with who you can, even a simple share amongst groups on facebook can yield more support.
The Glasgow UWCB event will take place on 23/03/25 at the Normandy Hotel in Renfrew and tickets go live on 24/01/25 at the below link; would be a good night out and supporting a great cause:
