At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.

We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future.

Alzheimer’s Society is a vital charity providing much needed support to those suffering from Alzheimer’s and indeed those who care for them or are otherwise affected by this cruel and heart breaking condition.

My mum started developing Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia in her mid-sixties and this led to her death at the age of 70 (a couple of years ago) in a care home.

At the end, she was almost completely unrecognisable as my mother, both physically and in her behaviour.

A huge proportion of the population will be affected at some point in their life by Alzheimer’s or dementia and it’s never a good experience.
