Story
As a serving Emergency Service worker, the work Blue Light Minds does is vital.
I am taking on a 750+ miles of cycling across Scotland’s most breathtaking—and punishing—terrains. From gruelling climbs in the Highlands to facing the unpredictable Scottish elements, every mile peddled will be a test; but every mile will also serve a vital purpose.
Our emergency service workers—paramedics, firefighters and police officers—are always there for us on our worst days. They run toward the dangers that the rest of us run away from.
Carrying that weight takes a massive toll. Witnessing trauma daily leads to incredibly high rates of PTSD, anxiety, depression, and mental health crisis among our blue light community.
Blue Light Minds does incredible work providing dedicated mental health support, early intervention, and a vital lifeline to the emergency responders who spend their lives protecting us. They look after the minds of the people who look after us. It’s time to give something back.
Any little helps. Please follow ‘Ross Tackles Scotland’ on Facebook, donate and share.
