Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I’m running my first ever marathon in Edinburgh this year on the 25th of May.

I’d like to use this challenge as an opportunity to raise money for a cause very close to my family.

Anyone close to me, or who knows my Gran Betty personally, knows what a truly wonderful woman she has always been. Completely selfless and so caring. She spent so much of her time looking after her full family, her kids and their grandkids, and I could tell she loved it every minute of it just from the love I received from her growing up. I know many people would say the same about their grandparents, but I really do think my Gran is one of a kind.

Sadly a few years ago, my gran, Betty Taylor, was diagnosed with Dementia, and since then I’ve seen first hand what a horrible disease it really is, one that I feel people & families of those who suffer with it, need and deserve so much more help than they already receive.

I know my Gran would be proud of where I’m at now, and proud of me running this marathon, and although she won’t know it, I’m doing it for her.

Every and any donation is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
